Brighter Thinking.

Incredibly, a 32 Watt LED is the equivalent of a 80/90 Watt sodium light. While a 50 Watt LED provides as much light as a 120 Watt sodium light. And a 70 Watt LED is the equivalent of a 200 Watt sodium light. The systems available from White Light are also perfect for illuminating awkward areas as they throw out more light and require less maintenance.

White Light That's Greener.

All of this makes LED the green solution for lighting. Our systems maintain over 70% of the original luminous flux at 50,000 hours - long after conventional outdoor light sources have burned out. Sodium for instance only has a maximum lifetime of 3 years. In contrast, LED lighting from White Light comes with a 5-year guarantee and they contain no mercury or heavy metals. So when the time eventually does come for disposal they won't further pollute landfill sites with hazardous waste. Using far less power, LEDs also play a big part in reducing CO2 emissions.

Greater Visibility Mean Greater Safety.

On top of all the clear efficiencies, LED street lighting can be made highly directional, with light cast mostly along a roadway, with only a minimal amount down and none up. A fact that ensures good illumination with the least light generation, further reducing power consumption and saving more money. LED light is also white providing obvious visibility benefits.

Compared with conventional yellow/orange street lighting, a standard 80 Watt LED light scores over 80 on the CRI (Colour Rendering Index) compared to a score of less than 20 for the equivalent sodium lighting. Not only is this white light aesthetically pleasing, but also practical for areas that need considerable amounts of light such as college campuses and pedestrian areas.

This type of lighting also increases the amount of image information captured on security cameras. Take the example of a red car parked under a sodium light at night. Under these conditions it will appear brown. But under an LED light it will appear red providing obvious security advantages.
